Restoration
of an historic building in Thousand Island Park on Wellesley
Island, NY.
Originally a photographic shop when Thousand Island Park was
created as a Methodist summer retreat in 1875.
Through the years the front porch, gable and eave detail were
removed and, until recently, the structure housed a barber
shop.
The Thousand Island Park Preservation Board and Historical
Society recently moved to return the structure to its original
appearance. Original design elements were returned to the
structure, using a photographic image circa 1879 as reference.
