An addition and renovation of a beautiful, turn-of-the-century cottage in the Victorian-era community of Thousand Island Park, NY.

The scope of work includes the following: replacing an existing back porch with a deeper, full-width porch & laundry combination, creating a new kitchen area out of what was previously a utility space, installing a set of french doors to connect the porch with the new kitchen, renovating the existing kitchen area, installing a kitchen island (with refrigerator, counter, and cupboard space) to divide circulation and work areas, and sanding & refinishing the existing floors to expose a natural finish

One of the design goals was to make the final product blend seemlessly into the existing structure, so that it would be difficult to notice the seam between the two.
